Mr. Dalton has represented small renewable energy developers, large EPC construction firms, and residential builders within the energy, engineering and construction fields.  Private sector projects and services have included:

  • Developing commercial-scale solar-PV applications and negotiating EPC contracts and interconnect agreements.
  • Negotiating an EPC contract to construct an 800 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant.
  • Developing commercial-scale combined heat and power (or CHP) projects using commercially available internal combustion engines modified for natural gas. 
  • Advising on structuring RFP responses for solar-PV and energy services projects.
  • Developing energy services projects, including the drafting and negotiating of contracts for engineering services, equipment purchases, and construction services. 
  • Developing reverse auction processes for turn-key contractors to bid on energy services projects. 
  • Advising individual licensees on HIC and Construction Supervisor license obligations and implementing projects.
  • Advising on project execution in compliance with contract terms and developing contract change orders. 
  • Advising on surety bond matters.
  • Developing dispute resolution strategies, evaluating documentation and contract terms used for supporting claims, advising clients on negotiating through business channels, and leading negotiations through attorney channels when required.
  • Drafting and negotiating master forms of construction contracts for recurring construction services.
